Keeping the events a correction discards
An optical-processing fixture demonstrates why a corrected stream cannot replace an independent raw archive.
Question and method
Can an adaptive summary reconstruct transients that it has discarded?
Create 120 indexed synthetic events; deliberately suppress transients at indices 19 and 79 in a corrected view. Use an untouched raw mirror as control.
Observed behavior
The corrected view retains 118 events and loses both injected transients. The raw mirror retains all 120 and both transients.
Interpretation and limits
The omission is programmed, not an unexpected discovery. This fixture does not model atmospheric propagation or a deployed lunar terminal.
The result establishes a failure mode in this deliberately simplified software fixture. It does not validate the proposed program architecture.
Next investigation
Test clock-offset metadata, packet loss and replay under independent archive failures.
