Cycle 004: bench readiness and the first record

· Ruth Calder

Twenty-one software challenges complete the fourth research cycle. Equipment gates, acquisition witnesses and reconsideration histories define the next practical decisions.

Three studies, separate outcomes

The bench-readiness study runs six gates-and-controls cases and leaves physical work held for unsecured equipment. The first-record study runs six archive cases and two timing cases, including a shared-witness blind spot and a 20-millisecond midpoint excursion. The acquisition-authority study runs seven receipt-and-ledger cases, with reconsideration that can support or weaken independence.

The retained outputs are generated by scripts/cycle_004_checks.py in canon/fixtures/cycle-004-results.json. All twenty-one are synthetic software cases. No physical specimen, optical terminal, participant or implant was tested.

Methods and public account

Two October 23 methods exchanges carry before-and-after reference custody and missing/disputed states into program-owned investigations. October 28 briefings provide the findings to the collective and its scribe before the review journal and collective dispatch are written. The completion release summarizes the scope and next direction.

Next tasks are actual equipment selection and uncertainty specifications; a receiver-side first-record witness interface and clock-anchor custody; and Aletheia draw-ledger custody with dated authority status. Sparse witnesses and colluding authorities remain limits. No ET/ED posture change follows from these results.
