The bracket on the certificate
KIS-61 mounting coverage belongs to a workshop fixture; its conditional loan window closes before any agreement.
A head attached to something
The proposed surrogate-strip bench needs to separate strip extension, grip movement and frame travel. The candidate review retained KIS-61 because its 2000 micrometres of usable travel reached the acceptance positions. Its head-only calibration left the mounting question open. Reed requested coverage of the intended assembly and confirmation of availability on December 3.
The December 4 reply supplies coverage for the head on Kestrel Instrument Service’s KB-2 bracket and workshop fixture. Meridian’s proposed mounting is MRC-frame-01. The two names do not describe interchangeable assemblies. No evidence in the reply transfers the calibration to the proposed frame, its cable routing or repeated installation.
The December window closes
The workshop has also assigned KIS-61 and its bracket to an existing calibration customer. December 8 had been an earliest possible date, subject to availability; it was never a reservation. That window is withdrawn. Following the December 5 review, Voss declines the current offer. The instrument remains at the workshop.
Kestrel will review stock again on December 15. This is a date to ask another question, not an agreed delivery. A later offer will require a new resource decision and evidence for the configuration actually offered. The present cycle ends with a closed offer rather than a loan awaiting arrival.
What remains before a strip can be loaded
The acceptance procedure still requires the 1000 micrometre sampled grid, a 25 micrometre displacement budget and a 6 micrometre return allowance. Those limits have not been changed to suit the stock room. KIS-44 remains rejected under its earlier range review.
The table classifies the reply, not head performance measured by Meridian. Stationary-reference custody, thermal and alignment coverage and physical acceptance remain open. The next equipment search must specify the mount and head together; no material strength or operational tether result follows from this review.
