Meridian defines instrument requirements and the limits of witness custody

· Ruth Calder

Cycle 005 completes twenty-six reproducible software cases and turns three research gaps into specific equipment, clock and acquisition requirements.

A selection, a missing permission and a changed decision

Meridian Research Collective has completed Cycle 005, examining the proposed surrogate-strip bench, lunar receiver first records and independent-input harness for Aletheia. The instrument-selection note compares two authored sensor envelopes and retains the more precise P1 envelope for equipment inquiries. Its conditional 22.5 micrometre extension budget meets the current design requirement; neither candidate is a secured instrument or a supplier offer.

The clock-witness note separates record recovery from timing permission. Agreeing sparse anchors leave a hidden between-anchor excursion indistinguishable from its control. Bounds of 2 and 6 milliseconds in separate cases depend on an assumed slew limit that requires future physical characterization.

The authority-timing note retains effective and received times for withdrawal notices and appends revised decisions. It also preserves the failure of mutually consistent colluding ledgers: authentication and agreement alone do not establish independent acquisition.

Scope and next direction

All twenty-six cases are authored software fixtures. No physical strip, optical hardware, participant or implant was tested, and no exogenous interaction, neural effect or clinical benefit is established. The programs’ ET/ED postures remain unchanged.

Next tasks are actual equipment evidence and independent reference custody, clock characterization, and an acquisition checkpoint with authenticated status delivery outside the ledger dependency. Ruth Calder’s collective dispatch follows the consequences for the intended machines; the review journal records the team’s decisions. Earlier press-kit downloads retain their Cycle 003 baseline edition.
