Cycle 007: what survives a restart

· Ruth Calder

November 17–24: twenty-two authored software cases test retained measurement, receiver epochs and interrupted symbol requests.

Three bounded investigations

Seven restart cases distinguish an unchanged return, a corrected common sensor shift and a retained 12 um return offset. A display tare does not remove the raw offset. Missing raw or stationary-reference records hold the result. A secretly coupled reference remains indistinguishable from common sensor drift.

Seven receiver cases retain a bound sample across replay but refuse to reuse old-boot anchors after a counter reset. One new anchor is insufficient; two same-boot anchors around tick 50 restore a conditional 2 ms model bound. Changed payloads are disputed. Falsely relabelled anchor epochs remain indistinguishable from the control.

Eight interrupted-acquisition cases replay an acknowledged commit with the same draw. Pending acknowledgement does not trigger a second draw. Reused keys, contradictory commits, missing journals and adverse or disputed authority states hold use. Hidden journal truncation remains indistinguishable from the favorable retry.

Scope and continuation

The strip return study, receiver restart study and acquisition retry study publish their exact input-derived result tables. The collective journal follows the test objects and the dispatch explains their place in the programs. All new results are software-only.

No instrument procurement, independent reference appointment, physical clock characterization, participant work or implant study is established. Existing equipment, witness-origin and authority-resolution obligations remain open. ET/ED preparedness levels are unchanged; the seasonal archive fragment remains unverified and receives no new intake event.
