How much circuit does the meter add?

· Nadia Okafor, Tomás Ibarra

Two divider checks constrain a conditional effective-input estimate before a timed repeat of the conventional RC surrogate.

Begin outside the capacitor

Aletheia’s intended amplifier needs acquisition that does not mistake its own circuit for a source. The circuit under the meter left the instrument load unqualified. Okafor and Ibarra therefore start with the retained AQ-S01 source and AQ-M01 meter, leaving the capacitor out of two preliminary divider configurations.

Two ordinary stock resistors are withdrawn January 25: nominal 1 Mohm and 10 Mohm. On January 26 they read 0.91 V and 0.50 V respectively when placed in series with the meter. The direct-source display is 1.00 V before and after. These are display observations, not certified resistance values.

A conditional estimate

The newly consulted Keithley handbook section explains finite input resistance as part of a voltage divider. It motivates checking the meter contribution rather than assuming its input specification.

If the source and nominal resistor values are exact, and each voltage display rounds to the nearest 0.01 V, the two intervals overlap from 9.802 to 10.202 Mohm. This conditional interval includes 10 Mohm; resistor tolerance, source error, bias and leakage remain unqualified. The interval is not a measured uncertainty statement or proof of the meter’s actual resistance.

Return to the small circuit

Okafor switches the retained RC surrogate while Ibarra transcribes stopwatch and meter displays. The rise reads 0.35 V at 2.1 s, 0.65 V at 5.0 s and 0.99 V at 30.2 s. Separate nominal 30 s fall and added-shunt rise checks read 0.00 V and 0.90 V. The table retains the actual transcribed stopwatch times instead of assigning every reading an exact planned time.

The RC activity supplies the familiar equivalent-circuit starting point. Neither its nominal formula nor this display record fits a calibrated time constant. The next work is component characterization and timed acquisition with known latency. These ordinary loading effects are neither evidence for nor a general disproof of ET/ED hypotheses; no psychic source, participant or implant is tested.
